How to Make Ribbon Roses with Rose Tool?

Material Required for Making Tiny Ribbon Roses

You will require the following materials for making tiny roses out of ribbons-

Silk or Satin Ribbon- Although there are many types of ribbons available, silk or satin ribbons are best for making roses. 4mm ribbon is enough suitable for tiny roses. However, if you want somewhat larger roses, you can get 7mm ribbons and if you want very tiny rises, try using 2mm size ribbons.

Glue- For making tiny ribbon roses, it is easier to use the glue by placing it in a fine tip applicator.

Rose Tool- Nowadays, crafts stores have rose tool (sometimes called turning tool) for making ribbon roses. Some rose tool sets have a needle tool also that is useful for working with very tiny roses.

How to Make Ribbon Roses- Step by Step Instructions

Follow the below instructions for making tiny ribbon roses.

• Place your ribbon through the open eye of the rose tool. Keep a small portion of the ribbon extending out beyond the tool.
• Apply a little glue at the ribbon end that extends beyond the tool eye.
• Fold the glued end of the ribbon over the tool in such a way that the tool gets encased between the layers of ribbon.
• Now rotate the rose tool to give it about two to three turns.
• Apply a little glue at the base of the ribbon and keep on turning. These initial twists will form the center of your tiny ribbon rose.
• In the next step, after forming the center part of the ribbon, fold the ribbon back against it self. Keep on twisting the ribbon tool gently, winding the folded area of the ribbon around the center.

• Now apply a tiny dot of glue at the base of your ribbon - just past the fold. This will form the first petal of the ribbon rose.
• Now fold the ribbon back on itself for the second time. Continue to turn the rose tool. Apply glue at the base of this second folded petal to the center of the rose.
• Repeat the process till the time you get a full a rose as you want.
• After your desired ribbon rose is formed, apply glue at the end of the ribbon to the base of the rose and cut off the excess ribbon.
• Now slide the tiny rose you have made off the rose tool and let it dry before using it in any of your craft projects.
