Satin
is a smooth, luxurious fabric, as of silk or rayon, woven with a
glossy face and a dull back. Satin ribbon may have a single or double
face and mainly used for decoration purposes. They are characterized
by a weave structure in which finer, more numerous warp threads "float"
on top of coarser weft threads, so that the weft is almost completely
hidden beneath the rich warp. This creates a smooth, shiny finishing
to satin ribbon tapes.
Medley of Colors
Satin ribbons are lightweight but strong and possess excellent color
retention properties. These are available in various color options
such as white, canary, forest, delft, navy, black, madder red,
vermilion etc.
Usage
Satin ribbon add a luxuriant appeal to dresses, frocks, gowns,
lingerie, socks, partywear and also wedding cakes. They are used for
gift packing and on bouquets.
